They are more interesting than any blog responses I've read...so you put the question right.
One thing that caught my attention was one lady who mentioned how she loved the smell of fresh-cut hay. I too love memories brought up by scents. I am a keeper of many old pieces from my elders, they all bring back not only memories of that person, but the lessons they may have taught me when in the presence of that item. My mother thinks I keep these things for the want of possessions, but to me they are a daily reminder of those I held dear. Two things I have of my grandmothers are the old black iron that was my great-grandma's from the 1890's & the old tea-kettle she used to wash our feet before we were allowed to come in from playing outside. These don't have great antique value, but I love them both, and are valuable to me. I like to make quilts with bits & pieces to jog memories too.
Best wishes & stay safe.Cathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00363617518491944786noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-980465406556512737.post-34688227093155440342011-12-17T08:48:42.250+02:002011-12-17T08:48:42.250+02:00Hello from Maryland, USA. I have a 4 yr old son who would love to keep that crab away from our family dog. I also know a family dog who would love to keep that crab away from the family 4 yr old :) We are hoping for a white Christmas this year, but it doesn't look like that will happen. We got our white Christmas snow this year in October. Our trick or treating night in the neighborhood was postponed a week because of the snow! Bizarre.
Happy Holidays to you and yours!Nancy Suehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07290873406016587211noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-980465406556512737.post-47284258507899381242011-12-17T01:20:18.338+02:002011-12-17T01:20:18.338+02:00What a fun giveaway. I work as a research scientist studying macular degeneration. We use mouse models, and have really ingenious ways to tell whether they can see. How is the weather treating you there..we have had quite unseasonal summer where I live in Australia. Twice in the past couple of weeks we have had unheard of, day-long thunderstorms (which means no internet, oh dear..but more time to sew..at least) Of course the other benefit is rather well-watered gardens!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-980465406556512737.post-87835791773653295852011-12-16T17:05:33.748+02:002011-12-16T17:05:33.748+02:00Fireworks! I saw it because it was a cartoon but I'll try to be descriptive.
There is a cat sitting in a litter box in the foreground. Next you see a dog looking out an open door into his yard. In the yard is a man stuggling with a Christmas tree. Doggie looks back at cat and say's - Goody - Goody - Guess who's getting an indoor bathroom too!
Well - hope it got a giggle.
Laughter is good for the soul.
I hope you have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS! :)
Thank you for the opportunity to win such a nice giveaway.
Cathy Byrd
byrd@gulftel.comAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-980465406556512737.post-43544468609568076062011-12-16T14:11:01.532+02:002011-12-16T14:11:01.532+02:00Thanks for the generous giveaway and a chance to w...Thanks for the generous giveaway and a chance to win!jqluohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08080868593187817850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-980465406556512737.post-76999078149676700232011-12-16T07:27:07.496+02:002011-12-16T07:27:07.496+02:00Love your fireworks quilt at the top of your blog....Love your fireworks quilt at the top of your blog.
