What to do with this yarn!

So, I started knitting something else with the rainbow yarn. It's called the Ten Stitch Twist and I got the pattern on Ravelry after seeing Henya of Chicken Stitches post photos of the one she's making.

I am not sure if I am happy with it. The color repeats are way too short and the stockinette looks so uneven because of it. I just don't know if there's anything that will look good with this yarn. And, it is an expensive yarn (in my opinion, anyway.) So, please, if anyone has any good ideas, help! As I said last time, I don't want to make socks.

It might just be time to switch back to quilting.

Happy Monday,

Debbie

  1. I have to admit that I actually like it. It is very bright, but that the nature of the yarn, but I truly think it looks very good.

  3. Hm...well, I like it, it's colorful and I love the stripes. But you have to be happy with it! I don't knit so I'm no help. *G*

  5. Thanks, Henya. Coming from an expert knitter, that makes me feel better. Today, I continued working on it. I feel I'm at the point where I can leave it and save it as a take a long whenever I need it or for just doing something mindless.

Allie and Miri, yes it really does look like stripes in the photo. That's cool looking. But, somewhat less IRL. The dark is really blue and green and the light is red, orange and yellow and more distinguishable IRL.

Alice, baby things are, of course, a great idea. But, my grandchildren have several others knitting and buying clothes for them. On the other hand, I am the only quilter among us!:)

  6. We were discussing this pattern (actually the square version) at the Jerusalem Knit N Nosh meeting. I think it is a cool pattern, but in reality, I'm not such a fan of the results (a few of us felt that way.)

  7. Hey Debbie,

I looked at the pattern and your results...seems like you are on the right track. It's not as lop sidded as you think. I say keep going! You're doing a great job!

Love the color by the way :)
